Reporting to the Accounts Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain the integrity of the financial accounting function, specifically with regards to Payroll and Fixed-Assets, in accordance with sound accounting practices, company policy and legislative requirements
JOB FUNCTION:
Recons on balance sheet accounts and VIP to GL recons are completed by the 11th working day of the month Reconcile staff debtors and director’s loan accounts on a monthly basis
All month end processing is completed by COB on 4th working day of the month
Payroll payments are verified against ERP system
Wages journals are uploaded weekly and salary journals are uploaded monthly
Payroll reports are generated as required and liaison with HR regarding payroll tax queries
Assist SARS with payroll queries and enquiries as needed
General ledger allocations are reviewed on VIP when necessary
All control accounts have zero balances
Assets are capitalised/disposed/transferred on a weekly basis
Depreciation and intercompany charges are processed by the 3rd working day of the month
Fixed assets are verified on a quarterly basis with BU managers and all fixed asset related recons are completed by the 11th working day of the month
Fixed assets related reports are generated monthly and fixed asset register is maintained as required
Reconciling items are investigated and resolved on a monthly basis and are not older than 3 months
Reconcile tax asset register monthly
Journals are signed and filed in batch order on a monthly basis with supporting documentation
Creditor’s month-end payment batch is reviewed monthly
All queries and enquiries are responded to within 24 hours
Audit file with all recons and supporting documentation is prepared by allocated deadline date
Auditors are assisted during the interim & final audit
Company HR and Disciplinary policy is adhered to
